Biography

Amy C. LeePard is a book artist and letterpress printer in Northport, Alabama. An Alabama native, Amy is the daughter of a graphic artist and a printer. Through her love of the book arts, she discovered her parents’ imprint of aesthetic and craftsmanship. With a background in photography, Amy began working independently with book artists and printers to learn binding, case construction, papermaking, and letterpress printing. Amy holds a degree in interdisciplinary studies of Community Arts from New College and is a current graduate student in the MFA in the Book Arts Program at The University of Alabama. Amy serves The Guild of Book Workers as the National Exhibitions Chair and secretary for the southeastern chapter.

GBA 300: Business Communication: This course introduces students to the concepts central to effective and efficient communication in the workplace. Students learn to analyze the rhetorical context that gives rise to common business genres (e.g., meeting minutes, email requests, executive summaries, internal proposals, etc.). Based on rhetorical analysis, students learn to develop content and manipulate organization and style, as well as use standard grammar and mechanics.
